Beau Nova Quilt

I love the way this quilt turned out. It is among the most "modern" of the quilts I have attempted and all of the half square triangle element were intimidating. The kit was from Craftsy, but I made just a few modifications.

I used a pattern with lots of points to quilt this one, to echo all of the points in the pattern.

  1. Nice! I really like the quilting that you have done on it! How did you piece your half square triangles? I tried pressing to one side, although I have pressed all the million half square triangles open (I used the traditional drawing a line sewing on both sides and cutting out method to make the HSQs), but I am getting a lot of bulk when I press the seams to one side - its also difficult with the square in the middle when pressing to the sides...

    1. I am so sorry that I haven't been paying attention to my blog for almost a year. I really appreciate your comments and hope you will get my reply. My solution to the bulk when a lot of half square triangles come together is to press the seams open instead of to one side. Maybe that will help a bit.
