Edition also photos of Henry’s book.

I made a cloth book for my grandson Henry’s first birthday. The pattern is from Crabapple Hill.

The pictures are colored with Prismacolor pencils, then brushed with a fixative so the book is washable. Then I embroidered each page and made a few interactive bits, put borders around each pages, layered batting between the pages and binding around the pages pairs. Finally I sewed the pages together on the left edge.

I recently finished quilting an English paper pieced project that I started during the summer (2020).

It started as a kit from Craftybox and I added some of my own touches. I loved the combination of colors.
All of the pieces except the border are sewn together by hand so it was a great take-along project when I went to Piecemakers quilt group meetings at Wilder Park in Elmhurst during this strange COVID year.

It’s a small wall hanging—32 inches square

I have been keeping busy during COVID lockdowns, finishing various projects.

This Fancy Forest quilt was fun to make, with lots of detailed piecing.

The blocking of colors was challenging but so effective when the quilt was finished.

Earlier this month our quilt guild, Village Quilter’s of Lake Bluff and Lake Forest had their biannual quilt show. Three of my quilts were among the 300 hung for the show. This is one of my favorites—pattern and fabrics were designed by Edyta Sitar.
